Wiltshire Air Ambulance needs over £4.5 million a year to keep its operations running, and without any government funding, this is all raised through sponsors like Backhouse.

The Backhouse team have already kicked off their fundraising activities with an office-wide bake-off competition. The social and charity committee has events planned throughout the year to raise much-needed money for WAA. Victoria Carwardine and Stuart Walter of Backhouse recently visited the base in Semington to understand how Backhouse can support the charity.

Ian Jones, Chief Executive Officer at Backhouse, expressed his enthusiasm for the sponsorship, commenting, “As a local housebuilder, we are proud to support Wiltshire Air Ambulance as our Charity of the Year. The vital services provided by WAA have a profound impact on the community, saving lives and providing critical care when it is needed most”.

David Philpott, Chief Executive of Wiltshire Air Ambulance, expressed his gratitude, saying, “We are delighted to have the support of Backhouse as its Charity of the Year sponsor. This partnership will enable us to continue providing critical care to the community in Wiltshire and beyond, ensuring that we can reach those in urgent need when time is of the essence. We look forward to supporting the team at Backhouse where we can make a positive difference in the lives of those we serve.”

Take on the Chalk Walk this April!

Local walkers and supporters are being invited to take part in a brand-new community challenge this April, as our Charity launches the Chalk Walk, a month-long walking challenge taking in some of Wiltshire’s most iconic chalk horse landmarks.

Inspired by Wiltshire’s famous chalk figures, the route offers two distances to suit everyone: a main route of 32 miles and a shorter option of 17 miles, perfect for families, friends, colleagues or clubs looking for a shared outdoor challenge.
