Flight to Funding Competition opens for entries across Wiltshire and Bath

Inspired by the entrepreneurial spirit of Dragons’ Den, this exciting new competition asks students to plan and pitch their own fundraising events in support of the Charity’s lifesaving work. The winning student will then work alongside experienced mentors and the Charity team to turn their idea into reality.

“Flight to Funding is a fantastic way for young people to get involved in something that makes a real difference,” said Rebecca de la Bedoyere, deputy director of income generation. “It’s not only about raising money – it’s about inspiring the next generation of changemakers and community leaders.”

Three finalist students will be shortlisted and invited to present their ideas to a panel of ‘Dragons’ in early 2026. These judges include key members of the Charity team and supporters from our Business Club.

The winning team will receive full support from these mentors to bring their idea to life during the summer term of 2026, gaining valuable experience in planning, budgeting, communications and teamwork. The journey will culminate in an awards ceremony and cheque presentation in September 2026.

The competition officially launches this autumn, with application packs and resources available now. Entries are open until January 2026.
