Our missions in 2026 so far
Tuesday, 07 July 2026
Every mission represents someone whose life changed in an instant. Thanks to your support, we've already responded to 595 emergencies across Wiltshire and Bath in 2026, bringing hospital-level critical care to people when every second mattered.
February was our busiest ever, making it the first February in our history to respond to more than 100 missions.
The proportion of missions attended by a critical care doctor has increased from 61% in 2025 to 65% so far this year. That means more patients can receive advanced procedures and lifesaving interventions at the scene, bringing hospital level care right to the patient’s side.
A total of 134 patients were transferred to local hospitals by our crew, with Royal United Hospital in Bath receiving the most patients (34), followed by Great Western Hospital in Swindon (28) and Southmead Hospital in Bristol (26). Every transfer ensures patients continue receiving the most suitable specialist care for their individual needs.
So far this year, we've treated 79 children, each one receiving specialist critical care at one of the most frightening moments of their lives. On call 19 hours a day, our crew has also responded to 206 missions at night so far this year.
From Swindon to Salisbury, Bath to Trowbridge, our crew has been there for people facing emergencies across our communities. In total, we've attended 112 incidents in Swindon, 49 in Salisbury, 42 in Bath and 38 in Trowbridge.
Over half (50.5%) of all missions were medical emergencies, nearly a third were trauma-related and 15% from road traffic collisions.
Every mission we've attended is only possible because people like you choose to support Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity.
Whether you've run the Bath Half, hosted a bake sale, volunteered, partnered with us, or given in memory of someone special, you've helped our crew be there when every second counts.
As we move into the second half of the year, we'll continue to be there whenever we're needed. With your support, we'll keep bringing lifesaving critical care to people across Wiltshire and Bath. You really are part of every mission.
