Swindon Wildcats Take to the Ice in Support of Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity

Swindon Wildcats will face the Sheffield Steeldogs on Saturday 21 March, 6.30pm, in a thrilling night of ice hockey that also shines a spotlight on Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity.

The Wildcats recently clinched their first Planet Ice NIHL National League title in 20 years, so the atmosphere inside the Link Centre is sure to be electric.

Supporters heading to the game will not only enjoy fast-paced action on the ice, but they will also have the chance to learn more and raise vital funds for the Charity, which provides critical medical care by land and air across Wiltshire and Bath.

Last year alone, the Charity was called to 188 incidents in the Swindon area, bringing advanced lifesaving treatment to people at the roadside, in their homes and in rural locations where every second counts.

On call every day for up to 19 hours, our crew respond to an average of three incidents daily. Attending by helicopter or critical care cars, they bring hospital-level care directly to patients in the most challenging situations.

Fans will enjoy live music, a figure skating performance and will also have the chance to win a signed shirt by entering the Charity’s raffle on the night.

Events like this demonstrate the power of community. By coming together at the rink, fans are helping to ensure the Charity can continue to be here when people need them most.

Imogen Linham, corporate fundraiser for Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity said: “We are incredibly grateful to Swindon Wildcats and their supporters for choosing to back our Charity. We rely on the generosity of our local communities to keep our helicopter flying and our critical care cars responding. Every show of support helps us continue our lifesaving work.”

Fans can find out more about the Charity’s work, meet the team on the night and learn how their support saves lives across the region.

A bucket collection will also take place on the night.

Victoria Hart, Partnership Manager at Swindon Wildcats said: “Community is at the heart of everything we do at the Swindon Wildcats, and we are incredibly proud to support Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity at this special game.

“The lifesaving work their crews carry out across our region every single day is truly remarkable. By coming together for this event, our fans, partners and players can help raise awareness and vital funds for a service that so many people across Wiltshire and Bath rely on when they need it most.”
