Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity Ready to Respond over Festive Period
Monday, 22 December 2025
While many families across Wiltshire and Bath will be enjoying a well-earned break this Christmas, the critical care team at Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity will be on shift, ready to respond whenever they are needed most.
Our Charity’s pilots, paramedics and doctors operate up to 19 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing lifesaving critical care by land and air to people in their most urgent moments. Christmas Day and New Year’s Day are no exception.
On duty on Christmas day are pilot Simon, with paramedics Enda and Louise. Our Christmas night team are pilot Ed, Dr Maria and paramedic Rocky. Together, they form part of a highly trained team able to deliver the same level of critical care as a hospital, directly at the scene.
From our Charity’s airbase in Semington, the helicopter can reach anywhere in Wiltshire and Bath within 11 minutes. When flying is not suitable or possible, the crew responds in one of their critical care cars, carrying the same specialist medical equipment and expertise.
In the last year alone, the crew been called to more than 1,000 missions, with over half attended by a doctor on board, enhancing the level of care patients receive when every second matters.
As a charity, we receive no regular direct funding from the Government or National Lottery grants. Every mission is made possible by the generosity of local people, businesses and communities who choose to support the service.
This Christmas, while the crew stand ready for those who need them most, please remember that your generous donations truly save lives.
